Soccer is one of the most popular sports in the world. It is played and enjoyed by millions of people, and over the past few years, its popularity has continued to grow. As a result of this, girls’ soccer specifically has gained attention and recognition over the years. 

The history of girls’ soccer can be traced back to the late 19th century when women began participating in the sport. However, it wasn’t until the mid-20th century that organized Girls’ soccer began to truly take shape.

 In the United States, for example, the first girls’ high school soccer team was not established until 1972, marking a milestone in developing the sport for female athletes all across the country. 

Since that monumental moment, the popularity of girls’ soccer has grown, with more and more girls and young women taking up the sport at different levels, from school to professional.

In terms of our very own high school girls soccer team, they have managed to take on the beginning of the season with absolute passion and dedication.

Girls’ soccer has had a profound impact on the sporting world, both on and off the field. On the field, female soccer players have demonstrated exceptional skill, athleticism, and sportsmanship, showcasing a high level of competition and talent in the women’s game. 

Our girl’s team has worked very hard to get where they are right now. They endure long hours of practice and long nights for their games. 

The practices consist of stretching and band workouts, technical plays, and strategic plays. They also have a practice game of 10 v. 10 as they attempt to scrimmage against their own teammates.

During an interview with Coach D, the coach of our girls’ soccer team, “The ladies give their presence, poise, and passion. We compete in one of the toughest leagues in the nation. So, the games have been great. With an outstanding atmosphere.” said Coach Deigo when asked how the games have been this season.

With this in mind, the overall atmosphere of both the practices and the games has been rather competitive for our girls; however, they continue to play with pure grit and dedication to reach their ultimate goal this season.

Which would optimally be to compete at CIF and regain the title of state champions that they had been back in 2021.

Like every sport, they need support from their peers.
