Spring begins on March 19. The season serves as a transition period between Winter and Summer.

While it can be unpredictable, it generally brings warm and cool temperatures, lighter rain, and more sun. It is also a beautiful time for nature: trees gain their leaves again and the flowers bloom.

It is also a beautiful time for a change in fashion. As the seasons change, fashion trends do as well. Fashion is a valuable form of self-expression.

There is an infinite amount of possibilities for outfits between accessories, tops, bottoms, and shoes. It can be a way to express your personality, culture, gender, and more.

Fashion is an amazing and accessible source of confidence and an outlet for creativity.

Spring weather is a great fashion opportunity because the moderate temperature allows for a wider selection of clothing options.

Winter fashion is still notable, but there is not much leeway considering every outfit has to be covered with a heavy coat.

I’m so excited for spring to come so I can wear my ripped-up clothes. I have jeans that are ripped on the front and back sides that I pair with this fishnet long-sleeve shirt that I would layer with a black tank top.”

Inspired by flowers, a popular Spring trend is floral patterns and pastel colors. Similar to summer, sandals are a typical Spring staple.

So far, there have been many fashion trends among teenagers. Some trends are oversized, eco-conscious, athleisure, Y2K, and accessory-heavy clothing.

It will be interesting to see how current teen wear is going to intersect with spring fashion, and what staples are going to emerge from the coming of Spring.

Whether it is runway trends or personal style, fashion is an integral part of many people’s lives.

Let us see what clothes Los Osos students are going to bring out of their closet for Spring.

Sophomore Sophie Antcliff has an accessory-heavy earthy girl aesthetic that is influenced by the 90s.

In winter she has been wearing Ugg boots because of the rain. To stay warm, she has been wearing sweaters, and short-sleeved shirts on top of long-sleeved shirts.

To prepare for Spring, Anclif said she is going to wear “tank tops, fun baby tees, fun jewelry, maxi skirts, and lace”.

Another student who is ready for Spring is Junior Jaden Cooper.

Cooper has an alternative taste and enjoys color variation in the clothes he wears.

For spring, I’m excited to bring out my jorts again and to color match with many greens to be a little leprechaun.”

Cooper gets his inspiration from the music artists, Melanie Martinez, Tyler, the Creator, and Doja Cat.

For the duration of Winer, he has frequently been wearing jorts with mix-match leg warmers with a matching sweater.

Cooper said, “I’m so excited for spring to come so I can wear my ripped-up clothes. I have jeans that are ripped on the front and back sides that I pair with this fishnet long-sleeve shirt that I would layer with a black tank top.”

Senior Nadia Ordonez has a Gothic influence on her clothes

Ordonez said, “Throughout winter I’ve been keeping my style pretty minimalistic, by wearing black jeans and a band tee, mostly because of the rain.”

Once Spring begins, Ordonez said, “I am going to be wearing fishnets, dresses, long skirts, and corsets.”

Another Senior Preston Sakalinh, ready for Spring,  described their style as “something with charisma, uniqueness, nerve, and talent.”

During Winter, Sakalinh has been wearing fur leggings and earmuffs to stay warm.

Since Spring starts in March, Sakalinh is going to coincide their outfits with the St. Patrick’s Day celebration.

They said, “For spring, I’m excited to bring out my jorts again and to color match with many greens to be a little leprechaun.”

The way we dress is one of the many forms of outward expression of our identities. Just like the seasons, the way we dress is always changing and evolving.
