Kamala Harris is the current Vice President of the United States (US) alongside President Joe Biden. On July 21, Joe Biden dropped out of this year’s election and endorsed Kamala Harris.
Of course, this creates a whole new world for the democratic party as their new candidate is a woman who is also a person of color, just the person the Democrats were looking for to gather voters.
I do not believe Harris would make for a good leader of our country, but the media is trying to convince young voters otherwise.
Some of Generation Z are now able to vote, and many are falling victim to the media tactics on apps like TikTok and Instagram.
Using trending songs to make edited videos of Harris, and using the fact that she is a woman to create the nickname “Mamala” are all acts of propaganda that a lot of us aren’t able to recognize. We are making it trendy to support Harris simply because she is a woman, and isn’t Trump.
In multiple debates and press conferences, Harris’s skill of responding to questions is very weak. When asked questions about matters that she will have to handle as president, she never gives a clear answer.
When asked in a conference about what she will do to help the inflation crisis, followed by a long pause she said, “Prices have gone up… and families and individuals are dealing with the realities of… the bread costs more, the gas costs more, and we have to understand what that means. That’s about the cost of living going up.”
She quite literally struggles to state a poor definition of inflation, which anyone could have done.
As a future president, you should have the ability to respond to any question regarding your future responsibility confidently and be able to at least sound like you have a plan.
The only thing I have seen from Harris is her use of complex terms and a different tone of voice to try to convince us she’s knowledgeable.
Some voters see this as powerful and think she’s showing sympathy through her speeches because she’s able to use these big words to try to move people.
But the reality is the United States does not need a leader who tries to sound powerful, we need a leader who is powerful. Someone who isn’t concerned with how they come off, and instead states what needs to happen and will happen.
We need to take into consideration which candidate will get things done and can handle a position like the president of the United States.
If you truly believe a candidate who chooses to bring out Megan Thee Stallion, an extremely provocative and explicit female rapper, to a rally to represent America is good to lead our country, then America has truly lost its values.
The US needs to stop stressing so much about who the person we are voting for is, and more of what power and impact that person will make on this country.
