As fall has arrived, the styles have changed from crop tops and shorts to sweaters and jeans. While some styles for fall are cute, I consider others absolutely ridiculous.
One of the most popular styles are wide legged jeans. In my opinion, I love these because they can have so much diversity and can really match with everything.
Usually, for the fall season, these are paired with a blouse, tucked in shirt, or oversized sweater and accessorized with boots or Uggs.
Another style that has been coming back for the fall season is long skirts. While some people can pull this look off, it doesn’t work for me. I don’t really understand the point of wearing a skirt like that, I’d rather see the jeans and sweater look this fall.
Knit sweaters are also becoming a more popular look this season. I love this style, especially when it can be tucked into jeans or trousers. It gives off that perfect cozy fall vibe.
Leopard print is another piece that has been coming back into style. Honestly, leopard print doesn’t really give off a fall sort of feeling, and it looks a little tacky and cheap in my opinion.
Fall is more about neutral and softer colors, rather than a big pop of color.
Another trend that is starting to become more popular is wearing some sort of brown footwear or accessories. While this is typically worn more in a fancier business-like environment, it can really accent your outfit and give it a more of an open-minded look.
A little pop of red in outfits is starting to become the latest trend for autumn. Personally, I don’t really agree with this. It doesn’t really add to the neutral, warm toned vibe of fall.
While it can draw attention, I wouldn’t recommend this unless you’re wearing some sort of red that the red pop can accentuate.
Lastly, cropped jackets are working their way into fashion trends for this fall. By cropped, I mean not a long coat, but having the hem fall a few inches below your stomach.
I appreciate this trend, especially since here in California, it rarely gets below 40 degrees in the winter. There is really no need for a giant coat, so a cropped jacket is way more stylish and straight forward.
Although these styles are becoming more popular, they might not be seen as much around a school environment.
In colder weather, some teens will just wear pajama pants to school. While it looks cute, I don’t think it’s the best choice for school. I’d rather have a little bit more effort put in and not have it look like you just rolled out of bed.
Another thing teens are always wearing is hoodies. I love hoodies; they’re comfortable and can be styled with really anything, like jeans, leggings, exercise shorts, and much more.
Finally, oversized clothing is extremely popular in our generation. I have an obsession with oversized clothing, it’s cute and comfy. However, sometimes it can get a little too out of hand, where it can look like you’re wearing a dress.
Fashion trends for this fall have their ups and downs, and I can’t even imagine what the style might be like next year.
