Recently, famous YouTubers Logan Paul, KSI, and Mr Beast have launched a new line of prepackaged lunch kits to a negative reaction that was plagued with controversy. However, controversy seems to be common among the trio.
Logan Paul has been in the limelight many times over the past, whether that be for scamming his fans on crypto or recording a dead body in Japan, and for being an all-around soulless public figure.
KSI also suffers from his own controversy such as from his music and boxing career or his sports drink brand Prime that he co-created with Logan Paul.
Mr. Beast also just got out of a controversy involving him allegedly faking his videos and the actions of his former friend/worker Kris Tyson.
With all three of these people together there is no question as to why they got the reaction that they did. The reaction that they got was worse than just bad reviews, it became a meme.
People began to make videos stating that they were excited to watch the “Talk Tuah Podcast” while eating Lunchly, Feastables, and scarfing it all down with Prime.
Lunchly started being seen as synonymous with immaturity and brain rot. A product that was clearly marketed toward Gen Z because of their susceptibility and as an easy way to make a quick buck, morality was out the window.
However, just what is Lunchly? It claims to be a better-for-you Lunch Product, with the first products being released being duplicates of Lunchables. Classic Lunchable products such as nachos, pizza, as well as ham and cheese crackers are being recreated.
Instead of the regular juice and candy bar in Lunchables, they were replaced with Mr. Beast’s Feastables along with KSI and Logan Paul’s Prime drink.
However, a better version of junk is still junk, and the health claims behind Lunchly are questionable at best. With many experts weighing in on the product and the common sentiment that it’s not as impressive as it claims.
For example, Prime which is a main staple of the product is really not great for the main target of this product which is kids. Prime is a sports drink so it’s really only needed after a strenuous workout, not something you drink with a meal.
Logan Paul, however, does not believe these claims, and was publicly arguing with a doctor on X about the health benefits of his product. His co-creator, KSI, also had his fair share of controversy on X when he argued with famous Minecraft Youtuber DanTDM.
DanTDM rightfully called out the product for being made with the sole purpose of making money off young fans. This led to KSI responding a multitude of times over the next few weeks.
As a result, KSI was seen as obsessive and egotistical, not able to take any criticism. Yet this wasn’t the only thing that took place which led to controversy during the product’s launch.
Logan Paul was publicly blasted when he promoted Lunchly during the birth of his daughter who was his first child. I wish I was joking. He brought it as snacks for the pregnancy. It is just absurd to suggest that after giving birth to your first child what you’d want is some ham and cheese on a cracker from a cardboard box.
It seems to me that this whole launch was doomed from the start. All of these YouTubers have had controversies following them for most of their careers. You’d think they would learn from their mistakes, yet controversy seems to follow them.
The whole idea itself also seems like a bad idea, with a majority of their fans being kids they don’t know any better. Having a bunch of kids hound their parents for it just because their favorite YouTuber created it sounds like a personal hell and I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy.
