Christmas is definitely, in my personal opinion, one of the best holidays throughout the year. The nostalgic feeling of the aesthetic, the music, the decorations, the gifts, and most importantly, Christmas break, is all fulfilling and joyful.
Companies selling decorations for Christmas in times like October is definitely an intelligent strategy, as there are people who prefer to be prepared months before December rather than during.
But when should people begin to decorate? Imagine walking down a street on your way home and you spot a house. It is decorated in bright colors, and gives the vibe of winter, but it is the middle of October. Watching people decorate for Christmas in October takes away the feeling of the holidays.
Once October finally arrives, the majority of people are into the spooky themes and the pumpkin spice flavored treats. Theme parks like Knotts Berry Farm or Universal Studios have seasonal events like Knotts Scary Farm and Universal Studios Hollywood Horror Nights.
It is cloudy skies, and orange leaf season, not snow days or candy cane season. Halloween and Christmas are both equally loved and everyone is free to decorate as they please. But are they not afraid of getting bored with Chritsmas? Why not just take things slow, Christmas As the holidays grow closer, stores are beginning to sell both thanksgiving and christmas decorations. It is understandable that Christmas is such a loveable holiday and is likely the best holiday, according to the majority of people. But why do some people celebrate so early? Christmas is not going to suddenly disappear, why not wait until the cold and cheery month of december?
I think people feel the need to celebrate Christmas so early, specifically in late October early November, because grocery stores start to sell decorations in hopes that people will be “prepared”.
