Volleyball is a fun and active sport that requires many skills. Setting, spiking, passing, digging, and serving are just a few. The members of Los Osos volleyball have all of these skills, but what do they do when the season is over? Many of them continue to play and improve by joining a volleyball club.
A group of students from different schools have joined a volleyball club called Ripset Volleyball Club. Ripset Volleyball Club is a youth volleyball program based in Rancho Cucamonga, California that offers extensive volleyball training. The Ripset coaches have years of playing and coaching experience, providing a high level of expertise to their players.
The club features different levels separated by different color uniforms: the Whites and the Teals. The Teal team includes younger teammates who are still developing their skills and are at the lower level. Meanwhile, the White team consists of more advanced and the best players.
This structure allows all players to grow and improve at their own pace while enjoying the sport they love.
When talking to a teammate about why they joined, she said, “Once the school’s volleyball season ended, I wanted to continue my playing and improve my skills for the upcoming season. Along with that, when filling out college applications they tend to look at the clubs that students have done rather than the school activity itself.”
When asked about her favorite part about the team she said, “I enjoy making new friends who don’t go to the same school along with having the different experience of games. I’m glad that while we are off-season I’m still getting my plays in.”
Joining a club like Ripset not only helps players maintain their physical fitness and volleyball skills during the off-season but also provides an opportunity to form lasting friendships and learn the importance of teamwork. The rigorous training sessions and competitive matches ensure that each player is consistently challenged and motivated to reach their full potential.
Being part of a volleyball club can open doors to various opportunities, such as scholarships and college recruitment. Coaches and scouts often attend club matches to identify talented players who could contribute to their college teams. This can be a significant advantage for those looking to continue their volleyball journey at the collegiate level.
In addition to the physical benefits, participating in a club like Ripset helps players develop important life skills such as discipline, time management, and resilience. Balancing schoolwork, practice sessions, and matches teaches players how to manage their time effectively and stay committed to their goals. Overcoming challenges and setbacks on the court fosters a sense of resilience and determination that can be applied to other areas of life.
Joining a volleyball club like Ripset is an excellent way for athletes to continue their development. It provides a supportive environment where players can hone their skills, build lasting friendships, and prepare for future opportunities in volleyball and beyond.
