The Girls’ Basketball Teams of Los Osos High School are busy preparing for the upcoming season.
New people, new strategies, and new skills are being introduced, and all are anticipated to have a positive impact on this year’s performance. The JV and Varsity teams of Girls’ Basketball are planning to have a great year and great fun.
Everyone wants to be seen and appreciated, and everyone wants to be able to contribute something special to the team. All the teams have developed a positive mindset coming into practices, ready to try their best and work extra hard in every game they have.
Rosalie Pavia, a freshman on the JV team, describes how her team is assertive and thrilled to start the new season, and how they are ready to try their best and hopefully kickstart the season on a good note.
“We’re pretty confident this year,” said Pavia. “Our Varsity team is really good, and our JV team is pretty good as well. We are all very excited to play this season, especially the freshmen. We just want to give it our all.” Pavia and the other freshmen are eager to show their skills and show why they play and love this sport.
Pavia also goes on to say how her team has practiced well and developed together, forming bonds and working on their abilities. She said, “We moved the ball around really well, and we have a good team. We all work well together and overall have greatly developed our skills.”
The JV and Varsity teams have had many practices already, talking and reviewing plays, skills, positioning, and much more.
Another freshman, Kassidee Kessel, who is also on the JV team, said, “We’ve made plays for the game using offensive players, and have established our main defense.”
Many freshmen have been introduced to the teams, and many sophomores, juniors, and seniors have returned. Every one of them has skills, and all of them have something unique to contribute to the team. Pavia was also asked which player she thinks will make the biggest difference.
She said, “I think the player that’s going to make the biggest difference is Bella Avalos, on the Varsity team. She’s really good and will definitely matter in every game.”
Kessel, in response to the same question, said she thinks that player Ivana Nwagbo will make the biggest difference.
These two girls and all the other ones are sure to impact each other and each game they play, as they all strive to influence the game in their own way and help make their team even more competent.
Whether they are defensive or offensive players, every one of them is needed in order for the team to perform well and challenge their opponents.
