One last time… Ariana Grande is releasing an album…allegedly. Many of her fans have even already nick-named the album “AG8,” which stands for Ariana Grande 8.
Of course, every Tiny Elephant, also known as an Arianator, is feeling bittersweet since it is rumored that it is her final album. Grande has been teasing this album through comments and posts on social media platforms, similar to her last album, “Eternal Sunshine”.
For example, on her Instagram posts, she commented exactly eight emojis, and although it doesn’t seem like a huge hint, for many Tiny Elephants, it’s very important because she teased the exact same way for her seventh album.
Although one of the biggest hints she has released is on her Eternal Sunshine hotline, released about two years ago, a promotional phone number that sends you to a voicemail of Ariana Grande, where she says, “We’re counting the eighths, oops, I mean the days”, which many fans are taking as a teaser for a new album.
Getting a new album after “Eternal Sunshine” feels exciting for every Ariana Grande fan, but all Tiny Elephants know that Ariana Grande doesn’t have the best relationship with creating and singing music. This is because of the fact that she has been very vocal about it these past few years. Due to her somewhat bad relationship with music, many people are expecting this to be her last album.
Grande has stated in an interview on the podcast “Good Hang” with Amy Poehler that her “Eternal Sunshine” tour in the summer of 2026 was going to be her “last hurrah”. Because of this statement, people believe that AG8 will also be her “last hurrah” for musical albums as well.
“I’m sure a lot of people are excited for her newest album. I’m not a huge fan, but I’m sure many people who enjoy her music might be sad that this might be her last album,” said Junior Zackary Whitacre.
Almost everyone knows who she is. Grande is one of the most well-known musical artists of our generation; her songs like “Problem” and “One Last Time” shaped a lot of our childhoods as Gen Z. This is why it is very groundbreaking that this might be her last album, especially because, if it is, she would be retiring from music at thirty-two years old. Grande still has so much talent to share with the world, and I’m sure every Arianator is hoping these rumors aren’t true.
“That’s kind of sad because she’s really good, she has a really nice voice, and I know there’s a lot of really big fans of hers, so I’m sure they’ll be really upset,” said Senior Shelby Terranova.
Fans will be very upset. Many people look to Grande for support during hard times in their lives; her music makes them feel seen. With this possibly being her last album, all her fans will probably be sad for a while, but for the most part, grateful that she let millions of people be there for her musical journey.
BREAKING NEWS: I found this out after I finished writing this a day before I found out, Ariana Grande announced her 8th album on 4/18 and in exactly 93 days from then, on 7/31, she is releasing “Petal”!
