Its chain of events centers on a hermitlike author who is sent into the realm of spies and infiltration, shortly after she discovers her books are mirroring real-world events.
Fiction and Reality to the main character, Elly Conway, begins to fade and blur and she is unsure about her so-called-reality. Her mind has created a world in within her dreams
The Author of the books, Conway, is at first confused and oblivious to the fact that her books put her in danger and peaking the interest of many spies.
Argylle, the main character of Conway’s books, is the main secret agent in her novels. Conway confuses reality because of Argylle.
Shortly after, she discovers the reason she is predicting events that have taken place in reality: Argylle is the culprit, the secret agent involved in espionage, infinitely good at his job.
After a mission, she disappeared and fell into a coma, for reasons unknown, and was brainwashed into thinking she was a normal person who lived a normal life.
Sam, another spy, was a man she met on the train, unknowing as to who he was at the time. Conway met Sam on a train where she was going to meet her mom.
Conway’s mom helped her daughter finish the final book Conway was writing, which held all the future events that were going to happen in real life.
Sam ended up stopping her and saving her life from spies who were trying to kill her.
Throughout the movie, Sam was the single person Conway trusted through the entirety of the situation. Many may wonder why, and at the time so did Conway.
It turns out Sam was her husband before her incident and before she forgot who she was. In the movie, the theme of it all is “love conquers all” and they eventually found their way back to each other after so many years. She believed she was just a functional writer.
Sam waited for her and watched her throughout the years, waiting and hoping she would regain her memories.
