Deftones, the alternative metal rock band, made their way to LA on March 5 and 6, 2025. The venue was located at the Kia Forum, and the tour marked their first headline run since 2022.
They had many nights sold out with fans across the entire stadium. Looking down from the seats, the mosh pit was a chaotic, exhilarating environment to be in.
Nonsensical people were shoving into each other left and right, drinks were being thrown, and shirts were being ripped off.
It was both exciting and hilarious for the ones in chairs looking at it all from above.
Not only did the people below have fun, but the people above got to see Chino Moreno in the flesh and witness some crazy things happen in the mosh pit to talk about for decades..
Apart from the crowd, the band themself did an incredible job. The visuals displayed on screen gave an additional feel, the lights and choice of colors fit with every song played, and the music did not disappoint.
Moreno did a great job including every section of the crowd. He was moving everywhere across the stage. He made sure the left, right, and mosh pit were seen. It really gave a sense of inclusivity amongst fans.
The venue was perfect and offered many snacks, merch, and had provided untainted and more than sanitary restrooms. If you’re a Deftones fan, you fit right in.
It’s such a special feeling to be in a place with hundreds of people who share the same love for an artist that you do. And of course, to see the band you idolize is such a down to earth experience that everyone should enjoy at least once.
Moreno kicked off the night with “Be Quiet and Drive (Far Away)” and the crowd went wild. He was smiling almost the whole night through, and his vocals and iconic shrieks never disappoint, even after all these years.
Towards the end, the band played “Hole in the Earth,” which hasn’t been played live since 2019. Of course to follow it up, they played their arguably most known song, “Change.” You could really feel the crowd’s presence for this chorus.
To end off the remarkable night, the crew went back to their roots and played “Bored” and “7 Words.”
Moreno was as happy as ever, as he announced his final thank you and exited the stage.
